Graphic Engineering Solutions and Services wins new Wayleave Solution tender for City of Tshwane
In March 2012, Graphic Engineering Solutions and Services (Pty) Ltd won a tender worth over R2,5M to develop and implement an Electronic Wayleave Management System for the City of Tshwane.
Graphic Engineering Solutions and Services have been developing various custom Public and Private sector software solutions for over ten years now, with our Electronic Wayleave Management System already deployed and in use with the Botswana Public Sector (government) for the past three years and now to be customised and deployed with the City of Tshwane (COT).
The new Electronic Wayleave Management System is intended to automate the still manual application and processing procedures and methods used by the City of Tshwane. The Tshwane Municipality encounter millions of Rands of losses each year due to damages claims from third parties and with regards to non-compliant, ‘unauthorised’ and ‘unlawful’ wayleave works being conducted by external wayleave applicant contractors and companies.
The new Electronic Wayleave Management System will aid as a tool in fast tracking the entire application and wayleave approval process, saving both the City of Tshwane and applicants millions of Rands. City of Tshwane works inspectors will also benefit from the new system as they will be empowered with handheld devices linked to the active System in real time, allowing them to conduct informed wayleave works inspections, thus overseeing compliance of any works in progress, while being able to identify and take action where illegal and/or non-approved wayleave works are in progress and which could result in possible claims against the council.
This Electronic Wayleaves Solution will be web based, offering applicants the ease of completing the initial application online via the web interface, while being able to view the status and progress of the application at any given time.
