The purpose of the Photo Management Tool is to allow Photos taken of the Assets during construction and that will be left after construction, to be captured on a laptop or workstation offline, and then, when back at the office, or connected to the internet, to upload the files into ProjectWise for safe keeping, as well as to make it available to the rest of the Project Team.

The systems allows for construction progress snap shots with date stamps for legal claims and risk avertion. Construction phasing, accident or progress status with metadata that can be viewed later when disputes or project & design reviews are undertaken. It allows for data mining after construction works are covered up on site and is a visual snapshot that can be utilised for training and future construction progress.

The images of that actual progress can be viewed by management offsite (back in the comfortable office domain) and matched with progress reports supplied by site management.

The Photo Management System therefore consist of three components, this Capturing Tool, a Search Tool available on the Web, and of course ProjectWise as the data store.
